As a freshman, you deal with so many logistics to prepare for college and figuring out the food situation is no exception. However, if you don’t say on top of it (which most students usually don’t), you end up stuck with the unlimited meal plan. At $3385/semester with the standard 14 week semester, you’re looking at $34.50/day for an over-abundant access to food. While this may seem like a pretty good deal, you’d be surprised how often you will end up eating out or just straight up skipping meals. All of a sudden, you’re paying a lot more per meal than our original estimate. At the end of the day, remember that college is the time for you to build good habits as an adult and pigging out at dining halls to “get your money’s worth” easily plays into the Freshman 15 (lbs)
